Course Summary:
This webinar will provide a practical overview for simulating and reconstructing realistic data in planar gamma ray imaging, SPECT, and PET.
It will consist of the following:
- Promote the open-source phantom library for SPECT/PET developed by the 2021-2023 PIDSC intern.
- Provide an overview of the principles and importance of simulation for SPECT/PET plus benchmarks.
- Discuss the process of building simple and realistic simulation for SPECT/PET in GATE.
- Describe steps to analyze the simulated data with ROOT.
- Explore approaches to reconstruct the simulated data with CASTOR plus provide benchmarks.
- Share practical tips and step-by-step guidance for efficient practices.
Course Objectives:
- Build and run realistic simulation using open-source phantoms and software (GATE).
- Analyze the simulated data with open-source software (ROOT).
- Reconstruct the simulated data with open-source software (CASTOR).
- Download and Use the benchmark examples emulating clinical acquisition.
